Editor/Publisher- Elton Cowart
Elton Cowart was born and raised in Wauchula Florida. He attended Hardee County
schools and went into the U.S. Army at age 17. After a three-year stint he began
a career of changing careers. He has worked as a forest ranger, police officer,
plumbing contractor, real estate salesman, retail merchant, writer, as well as a
magazine publisher and newspaper editor.
This career of varied careers has left him well suited to publish Dixie Living
Magazine. Of everything he has done, the magazine is by far the most satisfying
accomplishment. Under his stewardship Dixie Living has grown from a one-county
local publication to covering most of South-east Alabama plus parts of Georgia
and the Florida panhandle. Due to the phenomenal growth most of the
administrative duties have been turned over to his wife, Donna, and his son,
Brian.
Story Editor/Sales- Donna Cowart
Donna has been doing a super job taking up the slack of the editor/publisher.
Sorry, she’s married and not available. She is retired from the food service
industry but working harder now than ever. Since taking over as sales manager,
ad sales have increased dramatically. She stays very busy chasing stories and
proofing copy to bring you the best product we possibly can.
Graphics/Layout-Kristy Drinkwater
Kristy owns her own graphics company, Counterpart Brand & Design LLC. Even though
she is an independent business person and not a Dixie Living employee, we wanted
to include her here because of the great work she has done on the magazine.
